Thought I would do an idiots guide, sorry that's unfair, lets call it a Sprites Guide to having an avatar next to your name something like this

1. Find an image that you want to use, the maximum size allowable is 120 x 120 pixels. Best way to do this is Google various words such as Free, Avatars, Forums, Motorcycles, Bikes etc etc etc this will take you to some interesting sites with lists of avatars, if you dont want a bike then insert any other word that you fancy. For moving avatars add the word 'animated'

2. Having found your picture right click on it and a pop up box will appear. AT the bottom should be 'Properties' click on this and another box will appear, in this properties box it will list the properties of the image including the address (url) which will look something like this

3. Highlight the adress by left clcking and dragging across the whole address (so you will have highlighted the address as the example above)

4. with the address highlighted, now right click on it, a pop up will appear and you need to select 'copy'

5. Now return to the BMAD Forum board and after logging in click on 'profile'. This is above the top advert and below the scrolling BMAD.

6. Scroll down to the bottom where it says Link to off-site Avatar:
Enter the URL of the location containing the Avatar image you wish to link to. in the box provided right click and a pop up will appear, select paste and this will put the address of your avatar in the box.

7. Now select 'Submit' just below the box and provided you have copied the FULL address of the avatar and it's not bigger than 120 x 120 you should now have an avatar next to your name

This site seems to have a lot of different avatars to choose from
