There was a discussion about whether to return social night at The Embassy to a Wednesday or keep it on a Friday. The attached Poll will be a guide for a final decision as not everyone looks on here ....shame on them!

I voted Wednesday for the following reasons -

Breaks the week up

Leaves the weekend free

Helps Sue out on a quiet night

I voted for Friday because I think it's a good start to the weekend and if you want a drink or three most people don't have to worry about getting up for work next day.
However, I'm not particularly fussed which night it's on.

I voted for Wednesday - reason being...
1. Its traditional for us to meet Wednesday
2. I have a long ride to get to it (Plymouth) and get Weds afternoons off.
3. Because I'm riding I'm not drinking, so Friday is no advantage to me
4. I'm hoping to add a little something to some of the social nights, a bit of a quizz, a talk, a raffle etc and that would not work on a Friday when the pub is busy
5. There's nothing stopping people going along on a Friday, but if its Social night Weds then they will perhaps do both and that will benefit everyone more.
6. Some of us actually have a social life outside of BMAD and Friday is a night that other things are likely to be happening.
7. If a person has a rally or a weekend away then they will have to miss out on the Social if its a Friday (there are still rallies going on into the winter)

I originally voted for Friday - but on reflection and listening to the arguments of others, Wednesday seems the better option to me.

Fridays start the week end where other commitments may take precedence.
A more empty pub (on a Wednesday) will afford Tilla a better opportunity to organise quizes/talks/raffles etc which seems a very good idea.
We are used to a Wednesday commitment throughout the summer.
It can help break up a long winter working week!

Ok I have reset the Poll after being badgered by certain people so you can all vote again. Remember this is just to give an informed opinion for a decision.

I have spoken to Sue about which night she would prefer us to be there. She says she is happy for us to be there either night but if we want entertainment and share the pub with others then Friday is best, Wednesday is very quiet and we are likely to be there on our own so things like talks, quizzes etc would be better on a Wednesday.

I haven't put an option for both because that would confuse the issue but again feel free to voice that opinion in a response.

I voted for Wednesday because I want to go on the same night as Tilla and Bungle. No seriously
Wednesday is traditional for BMAD.
Quizzes and other events would be a good way to involve new bikers and these are easier to arrange on a Weds.
It'll be too bloody cold to sit outside all winter.
We could advertise that BMAD meets Weds nights throughout the year, no confusion
