Maybe we need to have BMAD waterproofs!!

This ride was attended by ten bikes with apologies from two who turned up to see us off - thanks guys for making the effort. Mark went home from the car park as Sam was just home from hospital and Stuart took his bike to Exeter to sort out his back tyre, which was in desperate need of attention. We were joined for the first time by Paul and Gemma on their Bandit, Andy came along on his 125, Phil and Debs were there, Wayne and Jo, their friend and neighbour Chris came on his Bandit, Brian showed up and there were the usual suspects, Lenny and Neil. It was especailly nice to have Sue from the Embassy along with us as pillion to Neil.

Neil led the ride (ta mate!) and we went via Winkleigh, Torrington and had a stop for coffee just as the heavens bacame threatening with black clouds and an increasing wind. We arrived in time for the rain to start chucking down and ran for cover. After some lunch, at which Lenny found himself a miniature pasty, we hit the shops, several people buying waterproof trousers and Jo finding those extra street clothes that she so desperately needs to stuff into the wardrobe! Wayne was his usual patient self being dragged around the fashion stores and Sue bought a clutch of Easter eggs - likes to be prepared obviusly!

The rain just kept coming but at 3 it seemed to ease off and we used the A391 to belt for home. I don't know if we out-rode the rain, but it held off and we managed to get back to Exeter without drowning. From there I had to go and retrieve my baccy pouch, which I had left in my mates house where I spent Saturday night, and I copped it on the last leg back to Pllymouth. Pulled the leathers off to blackened legs and my t shirt was sticking to me with the wet (glad I discovered that in privacy!) but I think the others should have made it home dry.

Terrific road, not too much traffic and a good laugh. Who cares about the weather!

See you all Wednesday night, mates!

goodwood was one of the best i have been too. it is just great to be able to get so close to the cars and bikes. max baggi and troy corser carlos checka and scott redding were there. the racing was fun to watch and it was a gorgeous sunny day to top it off.

am riding the totnes road tomorrow if sun is out so will let you know what it is like
