So a few of us were talking last night about a trip up to the Ace Cafe in London and then joining the Brighton Burn Up which leaves the Cafe at 10.30am heading for Brighton !

This would mean a ride up to probably a travel lodge or similar just outside London, overnight stay then joining the run in the morning leaving Brighton about 3-4pm to get back into Devon for 7-8pm

In addition the Saturday is the Ace Cafe Reunion Party Day starting at 7am and finishing at 2am Sunday

So a busy weekend ! Accommodation may be tricky near there and a quick google hunt is throwing up prices of between £50 and £60 feel free to look for yourself and post below if you find better and are interested

My friend Sandy (pillion) and I are up for this. At the moment the Travel Lodge at Heathrow, Heston, has twin rooms for £32 a night and its only 5.5 miles away. The Ace recommended the Abbey Point Cafe which is a bed and breakfast but they are fully booked on the 12th.
Anyone else giving it any thought?

Have you seen this massive charity run, on the 13th Sept 2009? - The route of the ride isn't made public, but it starts in Truro (Garrass Wharfe Car Park Truro at 9am for 10 am set off) and ends in Falmouth. If the weather is bad it takes place on the next Sunday. It is the Martin Jenning memorial run that coincides with the ACE run. Ill post it in the main conference to see if there is interest for this as well.

there is an amazing video from last year 1,300 bikes!

It seems that this is being organised outside this forum and accommodation has been booked by a number of people. I don't know why no one has seen fit to post the info on this site so we can all share in it ,but I would appreciate it if we do not split into cliques and keep details to ourselves when there is a general invitaiton being floated on here! I am about to book myself and Sandy into the Travel Lodge but would be happier to stay over att he same place as everyone else. So come on, if you have the low down, how about sharing it?

I don't know of anyone booking any accommodation or even planning to go outside of the whats on the forum. Would make sense if anyone is going to go up together.

I will be leaving from Exeter Services at 9 am to go direct to the Ace Cafe. I have booked in to the Premier West Hotel W6 0LS Hammersmith, using Laterooms.co It cost me £40 for a twin bedded room for the night. Ring the hotel direct on 02087 486181 It was difficult to find anyone with rooms available so don't hang around if you mean to come along!

Anyone who wants to join me is welcome to meet me at the top of the Exeter Services car park at 9am but give me a ring or text so I know to expect you. 07929 079084

Hi, Peter here.
I think Andy has said something about me meeting you at the Ace on Saturday afternoon.
Assuming there's not going to be a monsoon or a snowstorm (we have different weather up here you know!),it would be great to meet some of you again.
I gather you are coming up on Saturday and staying over for the Brighton run on Sunday.
If that's the case, what are you planning for Saturday night?
I could put the word round my current club (Insane MCC) to see what they are doing.
See you Saturday!

Hi Pete,
Yes, Andy has said that he told you about the trip up. There will definately be five of us, possibly eight! So far as I know nothing specific is planned for Saturday night - I imagine we will want to soak up the atmosphere and vibes at the Cafe, seeing as it is the re-union weekend and there's live music and so on. One of our number is has arranged to meet three friends from up North at the Cafe, but so far it seems to be pretty loose planning. It would be great to see you there. My number is 07929 079084 if you want to give us a text or call on the day.
All the best

HI
I'll see how I'm fixed Saturday.
My wife's working so I might ride down to the Ace earlier and wait for you to arrive.
Andy wanted to come on this ride but he doesn't have another bike yet!
Bye for now!
Peter.

Now look they all know I haven't got my new bike yet. They all took the p*ss relentlessly at bike night on Wednesday . I shall be there in spirit anyway. Y'all have a good time now y'hear (That's my attempt at midwestern drawl. Good innit.) It's like an episode of the Dukes of Hazard.
