The longest trip I ever did in terms of time was back in the 80's when I was on a Suzuki 125. I needed to get to Open University summer school in Warwick University from my valley just north of Bridgend in Souh Wales. The top box was loaded with books and my back pack was loaded with clothes. As a provisional licence holder I could only do the A roads and so I went up he Rhondda valley to the heads of the valley road and then struck east from there.
It took me 7 hours of riding and when I arrived I could barely stand upright. It wasn't just the continued sitting position, it was the vibrations through my hands and butt and feet tha got to me.
The summer school was about social psychology, and we had to conduct experiments in group behaviour. It was, believe it or not, a relief to get back on the bike and make the 7 hour ride back home at the end of the week!
